Minecraft Legends at 60 Percent Off, and the Sequel It Never Got
If you have been waiting for Minecraft Legends to get cheap, this is the window. The PlayStation Store has the game at 60 percent off, with the discount running until December 8, 2026, and PC pricing has been sitting at a couple of euros on key sites for months. The timing is not a coincidence. Mojang’s other spin-off, Minecraft Dungeons, just received a full sequel, and Legends is the comparison everyone is making.
Minecraft Dungeons II released on PC on September 29 and reached Switch and Switch 2 on October 14. Reviews have been mixed, with praise for the connected regions and seamless co-op and complaints about shallow combat, and it is sitting at around 62 percent positive on Steam. Still, it exists. Legends, which launched in April 2023, had its development wrapped up in 2024 and never got that second chance.
There is one more reason Legends keeps coming up in Minecraft circles. It has no modding at all, on any platform, which is unusual for anything with the Minecraft name on it. Players who want to tinker have moved on to Bedrock add-ons or Java, or to the next big thing entirely, with searches for GTA6 mods climbing ahead of Rockstar’s November launch. Legends was built as a closed box, and that is part of why it faded so fast once the updates stopped.

What Legends is in 2026
An action strategy game where you lead mobs against a piglin invasion, played from a third-person view with a horse under you instead of a cursor. The campaign is solid and the co-op works. The public multiplayer side is effectively gone on PC, where Steam Charts shows a 24-hour peak of around 14 players this week against an all-time high of 5,088. Console numbers are healthier because of Game Pass, but you should treat this as a single-player or friends-only game now.
At the sale price, that is fine. The campaign is 15 to 20 hours, the Lost Legends challenge maps are still in the game, and nothing requires a server to be populated.
The Dungeons II lesson
Dungeons II is getting marketing muscle Legends never saw: a Domino’s partnership starting October 26 with exclusive cosmetics, 20,000 free copies in the US, and a spot in Nintendo’s eShop highlights. Whether or not the game deserves it, Mojang clearly sees the dungeon crawler as the spin-off with a future.
For Legends fans, the practical advice is simple. Buy it now if you were ever curious, play the campaign with a friend, and do not wait for a Legends II announcement that nothing suggests is coming.
